DIY Stocking Tags

These easy to make tags are a great decorative way to delegate your family's stockings!

I love the farmhouse style they have to them with the classy wood border.

Here's how to make some for yourself.

Supplies

Cardstock paper

Square 1/4" x 36" wood dowels

Hand saw

Hole punch

Ribbon of your choice

Hot glue gun and glue

Step 1

Determine what size you want your tags to be and make a template.

I made mine 2.5"x5.5"

Step 2

Measure and cut your dowels for the frame of each tag. I cut 2 sides at 2" and 2 sides at 5.5". I used our bandsaw for the cuts however, a handsaw would be sufficient.

Step 3

If desired, stain your wood frame pieces and set aside to dry.

Step 4

Print name tags on cardstock.

You can simply do this via Google docs on your phone, or use word on a computer. Or...if you're confident enough in your own handwriting, that is always an option as well with a sharpie.

I made ours in Microsoft word with a font I had downloaded for free. I explained this in a video which you can see in my highlighted video stories on my Instagram page.

Step 5

Center and cut out each tag using template

Step 6

Use a hole punch to punch a hole for the ribbon to go through for hanging.

Step 7

Glue the wooden frame around the perimeter of each tag

Step 8

String the ribbon through and hang!

Happy Creating ❤✌
